Bathwick Hill Residents' Association AGM - 22 March
The BHRA AGM will take place at 7pm on 22 March. The meeting will be in St Mary's Church Hall at the bottom of the hill. Drinks will be served from 6.30pm, with meeting starting at 7pm.
If you would like to join the residents' Association, annual cost is £5. The latest printed BHRA newsletter contains a membership slip which you can fill in. If possible, please send this in before the AGM on the 22 March: to P Darymple-Smith, 7 George Street, Bathwick Hill, Bath, BA2 6BW, or come along and join at the AGM.
A few 'reasons to join' the Bathwick Hill Residents' Association:
1) The Association needs the support of membership subscriptions to finance hall-hire, newsletter, website and social occasions - as well as to build up a potential 'fighting fund' should the need arise, for example, to seek legal advice on such matters as planning, parking, traffic etc.
2) A coherent list of paid-up members fosters a real community of neighbours.
3) To allow members to contribute and exchange view.
4) To allow members to participate in social events. See example.
5) Our Association is a member of the Federation of Bath Residents' Associations, so individual members can make their views heard in a city-wide forum.
6) Our membership allows the group to have a real voice in the affairs of the City: our Association has the second highest membership of such groups in Bath, which enables us to carry real weight when possibly contentious issues arise, such as the location of the proposed Park & Ride, the future of the Rec., major planning issues (Southgate, Western Riverside) etc. The Council takes into account the views of Residents' Associations - and the number of members is important.
7) The treasurer holds passes for members to gain free entry to a number of city Museums.
