5th April: RUSH BASKETS, with Rebecca Board. Create your own basket using this beautiful and versatile natural material (grown in this country, not imported.) Those of us who worked with Rebecca last year know how satisfying and challenging this craft can be!
3rd May: FABRIC DECORATION - INDIGO DYEING with Patricia Brownen. Create a range of blues on cotton and silk fabrics. Make patterns using Shibori (Tie and Dye) and stitch-and-dye techniques, and take home a fabulous silk scarf. A small charge will be made for materials.
7th June: GEORGIAN ELEGANCE - AND AGE IN FLOWERS with Judy Jefferies. Discover how the Georgians used flowers to decorate their homes and themselves. After seeing a variety of demonstrations of arrangements, such as a garland or a posy, using seasonal flowers, try out one or two designs for yourself.
5th July: TERRACOTTA PLANTERS with Jane Johnson. "A slab planter in red earthenware, decorated with coloured slips and scraffito" - this sounds technical, but we are assured no previous experience of making pottery is necessary! There will be a charge for materials and firing.
2nd August JEWELLERY MAKING: AN INTRODUCTION with the Shiney Company of Bath. An opportunity to learn the basic techniques of jewellery making as you create several different items of your own design, such as a bracelet, necklace and earrings. There will be a charge for materials.
6th Sept: APPLIQUÉ STAINED GLASS with Sarah Finch. Wonderful colours and textures are used in a small panel, using a technique which doesn't require soldering. A small charge will be made for materials.
