Transition Bath Open Forum this Tuesday 13th Jan Widcombe Social Club 7.15pm, you can bring food to share for supper if you wish
I'm delighted to see interest in forming a Transition Bathwick and would love to be involved. Please do come to the next Transition Bath Open Forum this coming Tuesday.
I am actually giving an informal talk on 'Compacting' which I have been doing for a year (with a break over Xmas). A 'green' way to save money and help the planet.
Compacting is the decision to reduce what you consume; often people do this by making a compact, or pledge, to stop buying new goods for a specified period of time - this involves a certain amount of commitment and creativity on occasion but can also be quite eye-opening and, of course, cost-effective.
Do come on Tuesday next 13th January to Widcombe Social Club at 7.15pm, see poster attached, I'm talking about my experience of 'Compacting' (now in its second year) at Transition Bath Open Forum or come to find out more about Transition Bath http://transitionbath.org.uk/

Christine Bone, our speaker, has been compacting for the last year and will be sharing her experiences with us. The evening will start with a quick bite to eat and an informal chat - if you want to come along to this, come at 7.15pm and if you wish bring some food to share. The discussion will start at around 7.45.
There's a huge focus on end-of-consumption activities - reusing, recycling and such - but very little attention given to pre-consumption. Our forum will show, hopefully, that it's not all deprivation and gloom and that living a more sustainable lifestyle has many advantages!
If you're feeling the pinch it's a great way to save money!
PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR MORE INFORMATION and if at all possible FORWARD TO RELEVANT E-LISTS.
Many thanks
Christine Bone
