Music in the Community Concert Series
Musicians from King Edward’s Senior School are excited to be playing a
series of community concerts in Bath, as part of this year’s KES Music
Festival, which starts on Thursday 11th March.
Music lovers from Bath and the surrounding area, are welcomed to a quartet of
public concerts. The Music in the Community Concert Series will be performed
by talented instrumentalists and vocalists from King Edward’s School.
The first of the concert series is a Chamber Concert, on Thursday 11 March at
7.30pm in the Assembly Rooms, Bath. This event features some of King
Edward’s most gifted musicians, performing at an advanced level. Tickets
cost £8 for adults and £5 for concessions, and are available from the KES

New this year is the first ever KES Orchestral Gala Concert on Tuesday 16
March at 7.30pm in St Swithin’s Church, Paragon, Bath. Over forty pupils
will be taking part in this concert which features orchestral masterpieces,
such as The Great Gate of Kiev from Mussgorsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition,
Clare de Lune by Claude Debussy, classic film scores such as Star Wars,
Pirates of the Caribbean, Magnificent Seven, along with jazzy and vibrant
swing numbers from Glenn Miller and Chicago. Tickets cost £8 for adults and

On Thursday 18 March, a number of musical ensembles will be performing a
Music Extravaganza at 7.30pm in King Edward’s Wroughton Theatre, King
Edward’s Senior School, Bath. Tickets cost £5 for adults, and £3 for

The vocal highlight of the concert series is the Choral Concert on Wednesday
24 March at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church, Bathwick, Bath. This concert
includes a rich variety of vocal ensembles and talented vocal soloists. The
KES Senior Choir and KES Sixteen Choir will be joined by Bath’s Ascension
Church Choir and the KES Staff & Parents Choir in a delightful setting in the
heart of Bath. The highly challenging Missa Brevis by contemporary composer
James MacMillan will feature as the main work in the programme for this
exciting and captivating concert. Tickets cost £5 for adults, and £3 for

Series is an inspirational showcase of live orchestral and vocal music
