Professor Savage is an eminent member and former president of the Medical Women’s Federation. She was an elected member of the General Medical Council for more than 16 years. She won the BMJ Group Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.
She has campaigned widely against the Health and Social Care Bill currently going through Parliament and is Chair of the organisation ‘Keep Our NHS Public’.
