"The Lib Dems running BathNES Council will trial a new scheme to clear snow and ice this winter.

They are recruiting volunteer snow wardens to provide a community resource to help clear snow and ice intheir neighbourhood. The council will provide training, salt (depending on availability) and an appropriate spreader to enable locally prioritised areas of adopted public highway to be cleared of snow and ice.

The bottom of Bathwick Hill is closed/partially closed to traffic and the no 18 buses for resurfacing works. Diversions are in place e.g. North Road

Wagons Ho! For the American Museum’s 50th Anniversary

Motorists and residents in the Bathwick Hill area may find themselves doing a double-take towards the end of June. The City of Bath College has collaborated with the Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Parks Department to create a special way of marking the 50th anniversary of the American Museum in Britain. The carpentry students, under the supervision of tutor Peter Jones, have built a replica covered wagon to be installed on the Bathwick Hill roundabout in time for the anniversary of the Museum’s opening at the beginning of July. The covered wagon, or Prairie Schooner as they were sometimes known, will mark the way for those seeking the Museum’s unique location on the edge of the city, overlooking the Limpley Stoke Valley.

The BHRA Easter egg hunt will be held at Old Apple , Bathwick Hill from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturday 23rd April, there will be an Easter egg hunt, face painting, trampolining, raffle in aid of Julian house and tea and cakes. Members and guests welcome. If you know anyone with children who may like to come could you let them know please.

The site of former Lime Grove School has been sold to Bloor Homes, which is proposing, "a small number of high quality family homes as well as a proportion of affordable family homes." It also invites residents to a public exhibition of the proposals. The exhibition will be taking place on the 13th of April at the Widcombe Social Club, from 4pm-8pm.

There will be a public meeting to discuss Pulteney Bridge on Friday 4 March at 7 pm in the Percy Room, URC, Grove Street. This is being organised by local campaigners in Abbey and Bathwick wards.

Easter Egg Hunt Saturday 23rd April – from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Old Apple, Bathwick Hill. Everyone welcome, children not compulsory, but there is an upper age limit on egg hunting, all children qualify. There will be face painting and refreshments will be served. This will proceed regardless of the weather.

Open garden's Saturday 11th June – from 2:00pm to 5:00pm this is planned for the bottom of the hill.

Bathwick Hill Residents' Association Events Annual General Meeting Thursday 10th February – 7:00 at the St. Mary's Bathwick Church hall. Meeting will be preceded with a drink and start at 7:30 with a presentation from Tim Rawlings of Bath & N.E. Somerset Council about recycling and waste.

Please note we will be collecting membership subscriptions for 2011. This is £5 per household and should be paid in cash.
